Vincent Kompany has lavished praise on to Leeds United target Viktor Gyokeres.

Just a couple of days ago, Lancs Live had made a claim that Jesse Marsch’s side were planning to put in a £14 million bid to sign the Swede striker.

With the report stating that Burnley were ‘priced out’ of signing Viktor Gyokeres, it has been interesting to hear Vincent Kompany sing the Leeds target’s praises.

This season, the Coventry City marksman, described by his manager as a ‘talent’ has been putting the ball in the back of the net for fun in the Championship, with only Chuba Akpom bettering his goal tally by one (13).

And it goes without saying that the Whites could do with the addition of a brand-new marksman.

While Patrick Bamford scored in his side’s 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa, the long-term injury suffered by him seems to have impacted his game.

As for Rodrigo, while he has been in brilliant touch, the Spaniard needs another presence to shoulder the goalscoring burden alongside him.

Leeds United were well-placed to target Viktor Gyokeres, especially after seeing how highly Vincent Kompany seems to rate him.

The Manchester City legend’s quotes are indicative of the fact that the club could land a frighteningly complete No.9 in January.

Burnley manager Vincent Kompany has raved about Leeds target Viktor Gyokeres.

“In my opinion, and it’s not make an assumption, it is a neutral opinion of someone who watches his football, but he showed everything today of what he is.”

“We have a backline that is usually very aggressive and able to recover the ball on the first impact and with him, it takes you 2, 3 times or even 4 times and even runs the ball into the corner.”

“Even then, he is able to square you up and create threat towards goal. His final balls are good, not just where he has to shoot but how he brings other players into the game”, he told Lancs Live.

Considering Vincent Kompany played the game at the highest level and is showing all the signs of being a phenomenal manager, Leeds United may have to take his verdict for gospel and go all out to sign Viktor Gyokeres.
