Kolo Toure has revealed that he is close to agreeing a deal to join Celtic.

Kolo Toure made only 17 appearances for Celtic in all competitions last season, but still became a popular member of the squad.

The 36-year-old, who played a part in Celtic’s unbeaten run throughout the campaign to lift the title, has revealed that he could return to the Glasgow club.

Toure is out of contract, but the former Arsenal and Liverpool defender has revealed that he is in talks with a number of clubs, however, the negotiation with Celtic is more advanced.

The former Manchester City defender is in discussion over signing a one-year contract for the Champions, as he looks to combine his playing and coaching career.

Toure believes that he still has the legs to continue for one or two more seasons.

“I have the legs to continue for one or two more seasons. Celtic are the club with whom discussions are most advanced,” said Toure, as quoted by The Scottish Sun.

“This is the most feasible track. I love football too much to stop today, but I also think about my future.

“Brendan is okay to teach me the trade at the same time. “But as things stand I don’t close the door to any other club.”

Brendan Rodgers has recently admitted that he would like to have a role for Toure in the Celtic coaching set up.

If he re-joins Celtic, Rodgers is likely to use him as a back-up option, and he could be a real positive influence in the team.
