The Everton defender will be out for a minimum of seven months according to reports.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman sat down for an exclusive interview with the Mirror, and offered his take on the horror tackle which ruled Seamus Coleman out for the foreseeable future, and insisted that he is confident in the Republic of Ireland international’s ability to bounce back.
The 28-year-old right-back has been one of Everton’s most consistent performers this season, and his absence from the side will surely have a detrimental effect on their hopes of forcing their way inside the Premier League’s top four.
But Koeman exuded positive vibes regarding Coleman’s prognosis, when speaking exclusively to the Mirror, highlighting how he expects the former Sligo Rovers man to return to his best, despite being realistic with regards to any kind of expected return date:
“The medical staff here at Everton are in contact with the medical staff of the Republic of Ireland and we will continue to liaise closely. There is a lot of hard work now, and Seamus will face a lengthy recovery period, but he is a really strong character and we will support him throughout this. He will have a great team around him every step of the way, and with his extended family at Everton he will be get through this over the coming months.”

Koeman’s men currently sit in seventh position in the Premier League table, just six points adrift of bitter rivals Liverpool in fourth – who they face on Saturday.
And Coleman’s injury will most certainly be a big blow to the Blues’ chances of success against Jürgen Klopp’s men.
Anfield is a tough enough place for Everton to visit as it is, without the loss of one of their key men.
