Everton will be without some key players for a while longer.

Head coach Ronald Koeman of Everton is seen during a preseason friendly match between FC Twente and Everton FC at Sportpark de Stockakker on July 19, 2017 in De Lutte, Netherlands.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has given an injury update ahead of the Toffees’ Premier League clash with Bournemouth, with the usual suspects being named by the Dutchman in comments published by the club’s official Twitter account.

Unfortunately for those supporters hopeful of seeing two of their key men return next month after long-term absences, Koeman has admitted it will be a while longer, with both Yannick Bolasie and Seamus Coleman still some way off their much anticipated return.

“I think it will be November, instead of October,” the Everton boss said. “Both are working hard.”

Koeman then went on to talk about James McCarthy, with the Republic of Ireland international waiting to make his first appearance for the club since March, when he was struck down by a hamstring injury.

“He is struggling with his fitness and is expected back in training next week,” the Dutchman added.

James McCarthy of Everton (R) scores his sides second goal during the Premier League match between Everton and AFC Bournemouth at Goodison Park on February 4, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

Everton could do with all the senior players they can get as they bid to challenge in four competitions this season.

Their Europa League campaign has not got off to the best start and they have suffered an alarming start to the new Premier League season, sitting in the bottom three with five games played.

The Toffees’ 3-0 EFL Cup victory against Sunderland earlier this week spoke of better things to come but Bolasie in particular cannot come back soon enough for an Everton side in desperate need of more pace and creative thrust.
