Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has told Football.London that he wants Eddie Nketiah to stay at the club.
Arteta has said that talks between Arsenal and Nketiah’s camp are going on.
The Arsenal boss has said that he wants the 22-year-old striker to sign a new deal and stay at the Gunners.
Nketiah, who has been on the books of Arsenal since 2015, is out of contract at the North London club at the end of the season, and Arteta wants him to sign a new deal.
Mikel Arteta on Eddie Nketiah
Arteta told Football.London about Nketiah: “Well, Eddie has six months left in his contract and we are having discussions with him and the agent to try to find the best possible way. Eddie knows how much I rate him, and I like him – and I would like him to stay at the club.”

Arsenal exit inevitable?
In our opinion, it is almost inevitable that Nketiah will leave Arsenal at the end of the season.
If no new deal has been agreed upon yet, then it is really hard to see how the two parties are going to strike an agreement now.
Moreover, Nketiah is not getting much playing time at Arsenal under Arteta.
The Arsenal no. 30 has played just 30 minutes in the Premier League so far this season.
We do not think that the striker will sign a new Arsenal deal.
And we think that Nketiah should leave the Gunners.
He is 22 now, and there is no point now in staying at a club where he is merely a squad player.
