Speaking on Lad Bible TV’s YouTube channel, Jamie Carragher has been discussing Jude Bellingham amid links to Liverpool.
Every single week without fail we’re hearing stories about how much Liverpool want to add Bellingham to their squad, and Carragher has now weighed in on this rumour.
The Anfield legend says that he hopes that the midfielder will join the Reds, stating that he knows that the youngster is a Reds supporter.
Bellingham is, at least publicly, a supporter of Birmingham City, but according to Carragher the player has an affiliation for the Reds, which does add up considering that Bellingham named Steven Gerrard as his boyhood idol a few years ago.
Interestingly, Carragher has now claimed that Bellingham reminds him a lot of a young Gerrard due to his ability to create something from nothing.

Carragher on Bellingham
The pundit discussed the Borussia Dortmund star
“The courage he and other young players have to go abroad at such a young age. It’s been a fantastic move for him, it looks like he’ll get another move in the summer. Liverpool hopefully, I know he’s a Liverpool fan, but no. I think he’s a player Real Madrid will want, Barcelona will want,” Carragher said.
“Jude Bellingham, I said Rice reminds me of Roy Keane, Bellingham reminds me of Steven Gerrard at that age where you think he can score at any time, create something at any time. He could light up that tournament.”
Defining tournament
Carragher says that Bellingham could light up this World Cup, and his performance is Qatar could shape his next steps.
At the moment, Bellingham is seen as a talented young player, but the fact that he’s only ever really proven himself in the Bundesliga leads to some question marks around his ability.
However, a strong showing at the World Cup would alleviate a number of those worries, and a brilliant debut World Cup could well trigger a January transfer to Liverpool or another European giant.
