West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Football London revealed that Vladimir Coufal is suffering with a groin problem.
What’s the story?
Well, the £5.4m man has withdrawn from the Czech Republic squad ahead of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Wales and Belarus.
Coufal is keen to focus on recovering, instead of causing more damage while playing for his country.
As a result, the £30,769-a-week man will remain in London across the next two weeks, with a view to featuring against Everton on October 17th.
In our view, that’s a very sensible decision.
It must’ve been tough for the 29-year-old to drop out of the Czech Republic squad, as he and Tomas Soucek seem very passionate about their country.
Nevertheless, it’s the right thing to do.
Should more West Ham players copy Vladimir Coufal?

As one fan below wrote, Soucek should also pull out. Another added that Declan Rice should withdraw from the England squad too.
Why? Well, because David Moyes uses the pair quite a bit.
Soucek and Rice are West Ham’s two midfield lynchpins, and are vital cogs in the machine at the London Stadium.
If one were to get badly injured, it would cause serious problems for Moyes, as he doesn’t really have any alternatives on a similar level.

Having said this, asking players to withdraw from international squads can be risky, because – as previously mentioned – some are very passionate about representing their nation.
Asking them to choose club over country is a big thing, and one that may not be received well by every player.
Nevertheless, let’s see what the West Ham fans on Twitter have been saying about Coufal’s decision to withdraw…
