Liverpool are expected to turn to Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane as their top target if Mohamed Salah moves on.

If Mohamed Salah leaves Liverpool in 2024, the Reds will be ready to move for Bayern Munich ace Leroy Sane.

That is according to a report from The Mirror, who claim that Liverpool are keen to bring Sane back to the Premier League.

Liverpool received a staggering £150million bid for Salah in September as Al Ittihad attempted a blockbuster deal.

The Reds stood firm but Al Ittihad are expected to return with a new move in 2024, whether that is in January or the summer.

Liverpool would be wise to have potential replacements in mind – and appear to have one pretty lofty target in mind.

Liverpool keen on signing Leroy Sane

It’s now suggested that Liverpool are ready to make a move for Bayern star Leroy Sane as a replacement for Salah.

The Mirror claim that Liverpool are ready to smash their transfer record and pay more than £80million to sign Sane in 2024.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp would allegedly ‘love’ to sign Sane and he is now the Reds’ top target if Salah goes.

Real Madrid are also keen on Sane though, meaning Liverpool may fear a repeat for the Jude Bellingham transfer saga.

The report adds that Salah is almost certain to leave Liverpool by next summer and the Reds are ready to bid for Sane.

Sane would give Liverpool a left-footed option in attack just like Salah, whilst offering the option of playing either on the right or left flank.

Sane may have unfinished business in the Premier League

Premier League fans will remember Sane from his time at Manchester City having completed a 2016 move from Schalke.

Sane terrorised defenders with his pace before suffering a major knee injury in 2019, paving the way for his £55million move to Bayern Munich in 2020.

The 27-year-old racked up 25 Premier League goals in 90 games before returning to Germany, where he has now won three Bundesliga titles.

You couldn’t blame Sane for feeling that he has now conquered German football and may fancy one more crack at English action.

Liverpool appear to be ready and waiting for Sane, who has started the season in great form with seven goals in 11 games.

Sane, hailed as ‘rapid’ after taking on Cardiff City’s Joe Ralls, would be a hugely exciting replacement for Salah and may just leave City worried about him haunting Pep Guardiola.
