Liverpool and Manchester City target Patrick Dorgu admits ‘my dream is the Premier League’ but the Serie A rising star is a boyhood Chelsea fan.
Earlier this week, the Lecce starlet’s agent appeared to suggest that the rumours linking his client with a potential move to Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester City were, in fact, true.
“There is a lot of interest in Patrick and that doesn’t surprise me. Everyone can see his talent,” Kingsley Ogbodo tells Sport Italia.
“When he has even more confidence in his abilities and has completed his growth, then we will see the results he can achieve.”
But, if Jurgen Klopp or Pep Guardiola plan to step up their interest in Patrick Dorgu over the coming weeks, only time will tell what impact that interview with Danish publication Bold has on his chances of a potential January move.

Liverpool target Patrick Dorgu is a Chelsea fan
On one hand, Liverpool and City may be encouraged by Dorgu’s obvious desire to prove himself on English soil. On the other, the left-back’s very public admiration for a top-flight rival is unlikely to go down too well at Anfield or the Etihad.
“Of course (the interest in me) is great. But it’s really just motivation for myself to work even harder,” Dorgu explains. “It’s great to see that some of the biggest clubs in the world are looking at me. But it’s just motivation.
“My dream is, of course, the Premier League. Yes, (my favourite club is) Chelsea.”
Liverpool’s Andy Robertson successor?
19-year-old Dorgu has been likened to Tottenham’s Destiny Udogie, another talented young full-back who made a big-money move to England after impressing in Italy. Ogbodo is full of praise for his attacking talents, while also confirming interest from clubs in the German Bundesliga and Spain’s La Liga.
Liverpool’s interest, meanwhile, may be a sign that Liverpool are starting to plan for life without the ageing and injured Andy Robertson. Kostas Tsimikas, during the Scot’s absence, has flattered to deceive despite an eye-catching assist in Sunday’s 3-0 victory over Brentford.
