Liverpool fans praised John McGinn’s performance during Aston Villa’s 2-1 win over Leicester City on Sunday.
The Scotland international was one of the best performers on the pitch yesterday and has been one of the standouts ever since Steven Gerrard took over the Midlands club last month.
The next stop for Gerrard, McGinn and the Villa players is a trip to Merseyside to take on Jurgen Klopp’s free-scoring side.
Ahead of that match, the Reds supporters praised McGinn for his all-action display against the Foxes.
McGinn plays like he is out on the streets when he is on the pitch and he doesn’t give the opposition a moments rest.
At all times, his focus is to drive forward whether it’s pressing the opposition in a relentless fashion or running with the ball in his unique style.
If Gerrard is to leave Anfield with all three points on Saturday, then he is going to need the likes of McGinn stepping up and producing the goods.
And in current form, there is no reason why the popular midfielder can’t do the business against the likes of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago.
There are some Liverpool fans pointing out how Gerrard is already getting the best out of McGinn and how he is a Klopp-type player.
In truth, during this indifferent season for Villa, he has probably been one of the club’s better players, but he is now taking his game to the next level.
