Liverpool are unlikely to splash the cash during this month’s transfer window, but Jurgen Klopp should be preparing a big summer move for one English talent.

Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon has continued to show promise this season, notching two goals and five assists, getting back to his best since Claudio Ranieri’s appointment as Fulham boss.

Intriguingly now, Sessegnon has spoken to BT Sport in their ‘What I Wore’ series, and revealed that he grew up loving Liverpool and specifically Reds legend Steven Gerrard.

Some Liverpool fans have called for the club to sign Sessegnon this summer, and Klopp should certainly be lining up an offer to fulfil the teenager’s Anfield dream.

Left back Alberto Moreno looks set to leave Liverpool this summer, and Sadio Mane has little competition on the left wing in Klopp’s vaunted Reds attack.

Sessegnon’s ability to play both positions – as he has for Fulham this season – should be hugely appealing, essentially killing two birds with one stone whilst developing him to eventually become an Anfield star.

Another interesting aspect is Fulham’s interest in signing Liverpool striker Divock Origi, according to The Sun. One thing Liverpool should consider is a part-exchange deal which would see Origi head to Craven Cottage this month to tee up a summer deal for Sessegnon.

That may be a little convoluted, but the two clubs may be talking this month, and Liverpool should certainly be trying to set up a summer deal for 18-year-old Sessegnon one way or another, especially as his love for Liverpool should give them an advantage over other interested clubs.
