Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has praised the understanding between attackers Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah.
Darwin Nunez was ‘exceptional’ against Aston Villa in the eyes of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds coasted through what could have been a real banana skin with Villa heading to Anfield.
Dominik Szoboszlai fired Liverpool ahead before Nunez hit the post, seeing his strike eventually turned in for an own goal by Matty Cash.
Mohamed Salah added number three, scoring from close range as Nunez flicked on an Andrew Robertson corner.
Three goals, three points, three wins in a row – Liverpool are moving forward pretty well at the moment.
Klopp has now moved to praise Nunez, telling the club’s official website that he turned in a simply ‘exceptional’ performance.
Klopp believes that Salah told Nunez before the game to just flick anything his way, vowing to get on his bike and outpace the Villa defence.
The Liverpool boss thinks the partnership between Nunez and Salah was ‘really good’ against Villa and he will surely be looking for more of this moving forward.
“That was pretty much from the start like this, the two sprinters, they want to know where the other one is,” said Klopp. “I’m pretty sure Mo told Darwin before the game as well, if a ball comes high, please deflect it, I’m on my bike. Yeah, today the partnership was really good. I liked the line-up today, to be honest. It’s a bit of a problem in my job that we make line-ups before we know if it will work out – but it worked out pretty well.”
“And yeah, really happy for Darwin as well, the performance was exceptional. And we should not forget because it was an own goal or whatever. There were moments, rightly so, where the whole stadium was like, oh my God, there’s still a chance to get the ball,” he added.

Premier League defences will struggle to contain Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah
Nunez and Salah are just so quick and so active with their movements, always looking to make runs in behind defences.
They are the type of players defenders absolutely hate to play against and having them both in the same team is such a threat.
This, of course, relies upon Salah staying put at Liverpool rather than moving on to Saudi Arabia in the coming days.

If Salah does stay, then we could see that connection between Nunez and the Egyptian emerge this season.
Salah teed up Nunez for the Cash own goal as both players ran in behind, before Nunez set up Salah to score the third.
That connection is growing after a mixed season for Liverpool last term and if Nunez is given a real run in the team, Liverpool could have a real dynamic duo on their hands.
