Liverpool enhanced their quadruple credentials with a victory over Manchester City on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side beat their Premier League title rivals, but this time in the FA Cup as a 3-2 win guaranteed the Reds’ passage into the final of the competition.

The Anfield outfit, who are a point behind City in the Premier League with seven matches left, blew away Pep Guardiola’s side in the opening 45 minutes, leading 3-0 at the break.

Klopp celebrated with a series of trademark fist bumps toward the Liverpool supporters at Wembley after the game.

However, the German manager has revealed that he was ready to head back into the dressing room, before James Milner convinced him to acknowledge the Reds’ support.

He told Liverpool’s website after the game: “Millie told me I had to do it. I actually wanted to go but Millie said, ‘You have to.’ So I did it because of Millie.

“I think in this moment it’s really important to say as well, because it was really special and we all felt it was really special, the atmosphere our people created here was second to none.”

Can Liverpool win the quadruple?

Well, it’s looking increasingly possible.

Liverpool have already won the League Cup this season and they’re 90 minutes away from potentially winning the FA Cup now, too.

With a point deficit to Manchester City in the Premier League, and a Champions League semi-final against Villarreal, it’s definitely on the cards that Klopp leads the Reds to an unprecedented quadruple this season.

The former Borussia Dortmund manager won’t be thinking too far ahead, but this is a special Liverpool side and if anyone can do it, they can.
