Jurgen Klopp has revealed to Amazon Prime that he urged his Liverpool team to use the crowd to their advantage in a pre-match meeting before the Wolves game.

Liverpool welcomed 2000 fans back to Anfield yesterday, and they created quite a noise, considering the relatively small numbers.

The Reds put in an excellent display, as they cruised to a 4-0 victory against a Wolves side who can be a real danger.

And Klopp said that the evening could hardly have gone any better.

“It was a perfect night to be honest,” he said.

“Imagine someone 10 months ago said we’d only have 2,000 watching but it was so nice – we all had goosebumps! I said in the meeting with the boys before we have to use the atmosphere tonight.

“The noise was perfect. You could see and feel it, they have waited so long for this! They were all here to support a football team.”

The improved atmosphere may have helped Liverpool, as they managed to put in one of their best displays of the campaign with the Kop behind them.

The Reds never looked troubled from the moment that Mohamed Salah capitalised on a Conor Coady error and fired them into the lead.

Liverpool scored further goals through Georginio Wijnaldum and Joel Matip, before an own goal from Nelson Semedo completed the scoring.

Liverpool are now only being kept off the top of the table on goal difference, with Klopp’s side putting in a fierce defence of their title, despite some serious injury issues.
