Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has spoken very highly of Everton’s Carlo Ancelotti to BBC Sport.
Ancelotti has his Everton side sitting at the top of the Premier League table after four games, with the Toffees taking maximum points from their opening fixtures.
It is quite the turnaround for Everton on last season, when they finished in mid-table.
Liverpool are now Ancelotti’s side’s next opponents tomorrow, as the Premier League returns to action.
And Klopp admits that he knew that once Everton hired Ancelotti they were going to be much more of a threat to his side.
“What I think about Carlo Ancelotti was never a secret. I couldn’t respect him more. He’s a wonderful human being,” Klopp said.
“When I heard he was going to sign for Everton I thought ‘Uhhh, the next proper challenger in line’.

“They did the perfect business in the summer. They found exactly the players that they needed to improve an already pretty good football team.
“Together, getting more used to what Carlo wants them to do makes them a pretty strong team.”
Everton’s record in Merseyside derbies has been abject of late, but they really have momentum on their side this time around.
The Toffees go into the game full of confidence, while Liverpool are facing questions.
The Reds were battered 7-2 against Aston Villa in their last outing, and if they are beaten again it could do real damage to their title defence, even at this early stage of the season.
