The pacey winger joined up with Liverpool last month.

Reds boss Jürgen Klopp sat down for an exclusive interview with the Independent, and explained how he and his group of scouts sat down following the end of last season, and discussed the attributes that he needed to add to his already strong group of players at Anfield, which subsequently led to the signing of Mohamed Salah from Roma.

The 25-year-old Egyptian ace joined Liverpool from the Italian giants last month, for a fee believed to be in the region of £34.3 million, following a stellar Serie A campaign, which saw him score 15 goals and chip in with 11 assists in 31 outings.

The former Chelsea star is expected to add an even more potent threat to the Merseyside outfit’s attacking play this term, as Klopp looks to guide his side to success both domestically and on the continent.

And the German explained how Salah possesses all of the attributes required to be a success in the Premier League, and help improve his Liverpool side, when speaking to the Independent:

“He’s a fantastic player with speed. We said after last season that we would try to add things to an already really good squad. One of those things is speed. He brings that, as well as being able to provide and to finish. He brings all that. He’s a naturally fit boy and I’m really looking forward to working with him.”

If the 25-year-old can produce anywhere near the type of numbers he managed in the Italian capital last season, the Reds will surely stand a fantastic chance of going all the way in the Premier League this term.

And then the £34.3 million spent on securing his services really will seem like a coup from Liverpool and Klopp.
