Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that central defender Joe Gomez will not play against Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday, as quoted in The Liverpool Echo.

Klopp has said that Liverpool central defender Gomez will not recover in time for the match against Manchester United.

Gomez is on the sidelines at the moment after suffering a hamstring injury against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League at Anfield last month, as reported by The Daily Express.

Klopp, who described the defender as “a sensational footballer” on Liverpool’s official website in January 2020, has said that he will not play against United.

Not a big loss

In our view, Joe Gomez not playing for Liverpool against Manchester United is not really a massive loss for the Reds.

The defender has not been playing particularly well this season, as we saw against Real Madrid when he was badly exposed.

Now, Liverpool have been doing well in the Premier League in recent matches.

Manchester United are in brilliant form at the moment, and it is going to be hard for the Reds to keep their attacking players at bay, especially England international forward Marcus Rashford.
