Liverpool paid a world record fee for a goalkeeper when they brought the Brazilian to Anfield last month.

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp brought Alisson Becker to Anfield from Roma last month, and the German raved about the quality of the Brazilian stopper, when speaking exclusively to the club’s official website.

The Reds forked out around £67 million on the 25-year-old, and many fans and pundits alike believe that he could be the final piece of the jigsaw for Klopp.

Liverpool are 4/1 second favourites behind Manchester City to win the Premier League title this season, according to SkyBET, and with Alisson now at the club, they will surely push Pep Guardiola’s men all the way.

And Klopp has already been impressed with what he has seen from the goalkeeper.

The Reds boss spoke exclusively to the club’s official website, and offered high words of praise for Alisson:

“He obviously has a real presence, he’s smart, he’s very nice and it’s good to have him around. It’s only positive, even the performances in training – which is not too important in the beginning – are already exceptional, so all good.”

Whilst the Brazilian’s quality is undeniable, he will surely have to be given time to adjust to the high-octane nature of the Premier League – just look at Claudio Bravo’s struggles two years ago.

Alisson will be under a lot of pressure to perform, considering Liverpool’s recent goalkeeping problems, but he seems to have all of the tools required to be a success in England.
