Liverpool beat Crystal Palace 2-0 in the Premier League last night.
Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp spoke to reporters last night, in the aftermath of his side’s fine 2-0 away win at Crystal Palace, and responded to questions asking him whether he was happy with Mohamed Salah’s display, suggesting that the Egyptian can be much better, as quoted by the club’s official website.
Salah, 26, joined the Reds from Roma last summer, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £34 million, and he has gone on to be an absolute revelation at Anfield, scoring 45 goals in 54 appearances in all competitions thus far.
The Egypt international will surely have a key role to play for Liverpool this season, if they are to topple Pep Guardiola’s magnificent Manchester City side.
He was far from his best last night against Palace, however, although that didn’t stop him chalking up an assist.
Klopp spoke to reporters after the game against the Eagles, and responded when asked what he made of Salah’s performance, as quoted by the club’s official website:
“Mo Salah can play much better, that’s 100 per cent, but he was really involved in both goals – decisively involved, so that’s two assists kind of, so I am completely fine with that and it’s all good. We have to play as a team. We can play as a team much better and that means immediately he is involved in that and that is all good. 2-0, all cool.”
Next up for Liverpool is a home game against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday, and Salah will be looking to fire his side to another victory.
