Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted to the Liverpool Echo that Andy Robertson has turned out to be an absolute bargain for his side.
Liverpool signed Robertson for just £8 million from Hull City in 2017, and he has gone on to become one of the best left-backs in the world.
Robertson’s ability has even shocked Klopp, as the Scot is better than the Liverpool boss thought when he was first brought to Anfield.
“Three years since he signed. Robbo, we would have paid £30m and it would be worth it,” Klopp said.
“Not about the money we took him. £8m if you are not good enough is expensive. He was brought in because we thought he could help us.”
“He is a much better person and footballer [than I thought]. A massive win-win for us. A perfect fit from Glasgow.”
Robertson’s value has skyrocketed now, with the 26-year-old one of the first names on the Liverpool teamsheet.

The Reds defender has been a key figure in Liverpool’s success this term, as they have cruised to their first ever Premier League title.
Robertson has scored two goals and claimed 10 assists in his 34 league appearances this term.
The former Hull defender is almost certain to start tomorrow, as Liverpool take on Chelsea in their penultimate Premier League match of the season.
