Eden Hazard to Liverpool is starting to get a bit of traction.
According to El National, Liverpool are keen on bringing the former Chelsea attacker to Anfield.
Hazard joined Real Madrid from Chelsea for £89 million a few years ago but things haven’t worked out well in the Spanish capital.
Now 30, the Belgium international has probably one more big move in him – and Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is a serious fan of the player.
Back in 2018, Hazard tore Liverpool to shreds in a 2-1 victory at Anfield.
Klopp’s side couldn’t lay a glove on the then-Chelsea maestro, who scored a stunning Mohamed Salah-like solo goal late on to give his side the victory.
And after the game, the German manager couldn’t deny his love for Hazard as a footballer.
He told The Guardian three years back: “I have the biggest respect for this player. I love it, what a player.”
Busted flush?
There may be a temptation among Liverpool fans to dismiss Hazard, based on his form in Spain.
But honestly, if Klopp thinks he can recapture his previous Premier League form then this could be a ridiculous signing.
He wouldn’t quite be a replacement for Sadio Mane because he’s a year older but, even still, the Belgian could be one hell of a coup.
As Klopp said, this is a cracking player and it’s genuinely exciting to see if the Reds land him.
