Liverpool are gearing up for an FA Cup encounter on Sunday.
Jurgen Klopp welcomes Cardiff City to Anfield as Liverpool look to progress into the fifth round of football’s oldest competition.
According to The Echo, the Reds manager has introduced a certain Bobby Clark into senior training ahead of the contest.
The 16-year-old joined the Anfield outfit from Newcastle United last summer and has been a big hit in the Under-18 side this season, netting four goals.
And The Echo have reported that the Liverpool boss invited Clark to train alongside the German’s senior players at Kirkby on Friday afternoon.
Will he face Cardiff?
Honestly, no.
Talented as Clark may be, he will not make his senior Liverpool debut on Sunday.
Klopp will almost certainly name an under-strength XI – well, he has no choice with so many players still absent – but even still, the former Magpies’ talent won’t be included.
Having said that, he might not be too far away.
Harvey Elliott made his senior Liverpool debut at the age of 17 and that’ll be Clark’s next goal at Kirkby, to impress Klopp on the pitch.
However, Elliott also had a loan at Blackburn Rovers last season – albeit after his bow for the Reds – and that seemed to transform the youngster.
So a loan for Clark next season could well set him up nicely.
