Football Transfers have reported that Liverpool are keen on signing Tielemans on a free transfer in the summer of 2023.
The 26-year-old Belgium international midfielder is out of contract at Leicester at the end of the season.
And Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp personally wants to bring Tielemans to Anfield for next season and beyond.
The report has claimed that Liverpool “have had a long-term interest” in Tielemans, whose ability to play in a number of different positions in midfield is very appealing to Klopp.
The German “feels that the versatile Belgian can cover a number of midfield positions and will do so at a relatively low cost”, according to the report.
Smart signing
In our view, Youri Tielemans would be a smart signing for Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
Now, the Belgian is not exactly world class, but he is a very good player who has done well in the Premier League with Leicester.
That experience would help Liverpool.
And he would not cost anything in transfer fee.
Leaving Leicester for Liverpool would be a step-up for Tielemans, and we believe that he would be keen on a transfer to the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners.
