Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Diogo Jota has a ‘good chance’ of featuring for Liverpool against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday evening.

The Portugal international was considered a doubt.

And that’s because Klopp revealed on Wednesday that the player picked up a knock against Benfica in the Champions League this week.

However, speaking to Liverpool’s official website, the German manager was much more optimistic on Thursday.

He said: “I said last night that Diogo got a knock – that swelled up slightly directly after the game, obviously while I was in the press conference.

“Diogo, good chance he will be alright but we need to have a closer look tomorrow. That’s it.”

There’s no telling what a massive boost this could be for the Reds.

Remember, Jota already has a goal against Manchester City over the past week after scoring in the frenetic 2-2 draw at Eastlands last Sunday.

With 21 goals across all competitions this season, the former Wolves attacker has become an enormous player for Liverpool.

And no doubt that their odds of victory shoot up if it transpires that he’s fit to face Pep Guardiola’s side.

The Spaniard will be secretly disappointed if Jota is fit and, well, that’ll tell you all you need to know.
