Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told the Liverpool Echo that he is hoping to avoid busy transfer windows in future.

The Reds boss undertook something of an overhaul of the Liverpool squad this summer as he moulded the squad to better suit his needs.

Seven new players arrived at the club for a combined total of £67 million, while 14 players departed including loans.

Indeed, the club’s sales were impressive to say the least as they raked in £67 million selling the players that Klopp did not want.

It made them one of the busier Premier League sides of the summer transfer window but Klopp has warned fans not to expect the same in the future.

“Our transfer window was quite busy and I don’t want it to be that busy in future,” he told the Liverpool Echo.

“The squad was quite big and we needed to do a few things. We brought in the players we wanted. We don’t have to buy another six next year. We feel confident with this squad.”

In reality, Klopp’s comments about their future transfer intentions are not all that surprising.

After overhauling his squad this summer it makes perfect sense for him to now target one or two big signings a year to improve his squad.

Next summer will surely see him target improvement at left-back given they currently have James Milner playing in the position after Alberto Moreno’s continued struggles.
