It was a pretty mixed day for Liverpool hitman Mo Salah.
The Reds attacker scored a brilliant second goal as Jurgen Klopp’s side moved 2-1 ahead against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.
A botched clearance by Yerry Mina was tucked away by Salah with a lethal first-time finish from just inside Everton’s box.
In doing so, it was Salah’s 100th goal for Liverpool, but the milestone was soured not only by the fact that Dominic Calvert-Lewin cancelled it out, but Jordan Henderson’s last-minute winner was disallowed over a very contentious offside decision by VAR.
In addition to that, Liverpool have lost Thiago Alcantara and Virgil van Dijk to injury, with the duo undergoing scans to discover the extent of the injury.
And Klopp has told Liverpool’s official website that although it was a ‘sensational’ goal by Salah, he doesn’t want to speak about him.
He said: “The goal – sensational. But I am not in the mood to talk about that now. Yes, it was a sensational goal and the numbers are incredible, it’s really crazy. But not even Mo wants to talk about it in the moment.”
It really was a horrible day for the Premier League champions.
With the disappointment of Henderson’s goal being chalked off, and potentially losing two massive players to injury, you can’t blame Klopp for not being in the mood to adopt a cheery disposition.
