Arsenal supporters are elated at Liverpool signing Ozan Kabak from Schalke on deadline day because it then allowed them to part ways with Shkodran Mustafi.
On transfer deadline day for Liverpool, it was all about bringing in those much-needed centre-backs, whilst for Arsenal, they were keen to get rid of their deadwood.
Well, the Premier League champions opted for the signature of Schalke’s highly-rated star Kabak, but the German club were only going to allow him to leave if they could get in a replacement.
And he came in the form of none other than Mustafi, who has since torn up his contract at the Emirates and replaced Kabak at the bottom-of-the-table Bundesliga club, as posted by ESPN.
All in all, Arsenal fans are over the moon that they have managed to clear out yet another locker in their changing room.
But in truth, it does seem as though both Liverpool and Arsenal have helped each other out.
If Schalke didn’t have a replacement to bring in then Kabak may have stayed put.
Equally, if the Reds didn’t push for Kabak then Mustafi perhaps would still be on Arsenal’s books.
