Slowly but surely, Liverpool’s midfield is getting back to normal.
Jurgen Klopp has been riddled with injuries to key midfielders for much of the Premier League campaign, which explains, to some extent, why the Reds are 15 points behind top-of-the-table Arsenal.
Curtis Jones, Thiago, Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita have all had stints on the sidelines for Liverpool this season.
But one player – a £40 million signing in 2017 [Guardian] – might be gearing up for his first start under Klopp since March.
This week, Klopp revealed – as covered by HITC Sport – to Liverpool’s website that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is ‘now ready’ for more regular Premier League football.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain v Tottenham Hotspur
And if the former Arsenal player can recapture the form that made him such a driving force in the Reds’ midfield once upon a time, well it can only be a good thing.
Oxlade-Chamberlain had a brief cameo against Nottingham Forest last month and hasn’t started a game since March of last season.
He is bound to be rusty, but Liverpool’s midfield have been invisible in recent defeats against Leeds and Forest.
And therefore, unleashing the Southampton academy product is definitely a possibility this weekend against Tottenham Hotspur, particularly in light of Klopp’s comments in midweek.
