Tottenham Hotspur’s upcoming FA Cup opponents have been given a helping hand from none other than Liverpool, it seems.
Spurs kick off their hopeful journey to Wembley on Sunday with a trip to non-league Marine.
Despite being a semi-professional side that pays their top players a maximum of £300 per week, the Merseyside outfit are up for an FA Cup shock and have enlisted the help of Liverpool to help them achieve it.
Their manager, Neil Young, has revealed to The Echo that video analysis of Tottenham matches has been sent to them by people at the Premier League champions, to maximise their chances of an upset.
Here’s how some fans of the North London club reacted to the revelation:
Spurs boss Jose Mourinho will be furious if Marine actually do the impossible and beat his side this weekend.
It’ll be another reason to renew his verbal jousting with Liverpool following a last-minute defeat at Anfield last month.
But really, no amount of video analysis can possibly help the lowly eighth-tier side if Tottenham turn up.
