Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told the club’s official website that Sadio Mane is a world-class player, just like his teammate Mohamed Salah.
What’s the story?
Salah has been making the headlines this season, and rightly so.
The Liverpool forward scored a world-class individual goal against Manchester City.
The 29-year-old then followed that up by scoring a similar goal against Watford in the Premier League yesterday.
Salah is now being mentioned by many as the best player in the world right now.
Liverpool manager Klopp shares that view, but he has reminded everyone that Mane is also a superb footballer.

Klopp told Liverpool’s official website about Mane: “And the special thing is, we should not forget that Sadio Mane – I’m not sure if he scored penalties for Southampton, not that I know – scored 100 goals without a penalty, so that makes a difference for sure.
“It’s a special number, absolutely. He should be and will be, hopefully, proud of that. That doesn’t happen for a lot of players.
“You don’t have to talk about Sadio’s quality – he’s a world-class player as well. It’s incredible how good he is. Big day for him, 100 per cent, and I’m really happy for him.”

World-class player
Mane himself is a world-class player.
The Senegal international forward may not score as many goals as Salah does, but we cannot undermine his importance to the team.
Against Watford yesterday, Mane scored in the eighth minute.
It was the 29-year-old’s 100th Premier League goal.
Liverpool paid £34 million to Southampton in the summer of 2016 to sign Mane, as reported by BBC Sport.
We can safely say that the forward has repaid that transfer fee in full.
