Liverpool are back in Champions League action on Wednesday and they head into their game against Atletico Madrid knowing that a win could see them secure the top spot in Group B.

Indeed, if Liverpool beat Atletico and AC Milan get the better of Porto, the Reds will be eight points clear of the rest of the field, meaning that with two games to go, nobody can catch Jurgen Klopp’s side.

That would be the perfect scenario for the Reds as it would allow them to rotate their XI for the remaining games in the group stages, giving their title push a boost.

Of course, before we start thinking about that, Liverpool need to get past the reigning La Liga champions at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp will have to get his team selection spot on to get three points here, and with that in mind, we’ve had a go at predicting Liverpool’s starting XI for this one.

We expect Jurgen Klopp to make three changes for this match.

Joel Matip returns to the backline as Ibrahima Konate is given a bit of a rest, while an injury to Naby Keita has forced a change in the midfield.

Fabinho comes back for this one, but there’s no space for Thiago, who, after a couple of months on the sidelines, may be struggling for match fitness.

Diogo Jota returns to the starting XI for this one, replacing Roberto Firmino.
