Liverpool face Southampton on Tuesday evening knowing that a victory against the Saints will give them a small chance of winning the Premier League title on the final day of the season.
Indeed, after Manchester City drew with West Ham United, Liverpool have an outside chance of pipping Pep Guardiola’s side to the post, but in order to give themselves a chance, they need to win in midweek..
Luckily for the Reds, Southampton’s season is all-but over. The south-coast club have nothing to play for at this point of the season and they shouldn’t pose the Merseyside club too many problems.
However, as we should all know by now, anything can happen in the Premier League, and if Liverpool are to win here, they have to perform to a high standard.
With that in mind, we’ve had a go at predicting Liverpool’s starting XI for this one.

Jurgen Klopp has made a point of the fatigue his team will face due to the scheduling of this match, and we think he’ll make four changes for this match.
Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk both went down with minor injuries in the FA Cup final, and just three days later, we don’t expect them to start in this match.
Kostas Tsimikas scored the winning penalty against Chelsea on Saturday, and we expect him to start as his confidence will surely be at an all-time high right now.
Sadio Mane has had an incredibly strenuous schedule in recent weeks, so we also expect him to drop onto the bench for Roberto Firmino who gets a rare start here.
This is far from Liverpool’s strongest side, but this XI should certainly have enough to get past Southampton.
