Liverpool face Manchester City this weekend at Anfield, and for the first time in years, the Reds come into a game at home as underdogs.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have been bang average this season. They sit firmly in mid-table in the Premier League and have been utterly unconvincing in many of their games.
Factor in a number of injuries to key players and it’s fair to say that the Reds aren’t fancied to win this game.
However, despite all of that, Liverpool are still capable of putting on a world-class performance, and while City are favourites, anything can happen in the Premier League.
With that in mind, we’ve had a go at predicting the Merseyside club’s starting XI for this one.
We think that Jurgen Klopp will make four changes from the team that hammered Rangers in midweek.
Andy Robertson returns from injury at left-back, while Joe Gomez starts on the right.
Ibrahima Konate starts in the heart of the defence alongside Virgil van Dijk as an injury to Joel Matip means that the Frenchman is the de facto first-choice.
We also expect Klopp to go back to a 4-3-3, as the trusty trio of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago start in the middle of the park.
Luis Diaz is out with an injury, so Diogo Jota starts on the left, and while Darwin Nunez has scored in each of his last two games, we think that Roberto Firmino will get the nod to start up top against City after a remarkable run of form from the Brazilian.
Mohamed Salah returns to the XI after his hat-trick in midweek, and this could be the game that ignites his season after an uncharacteristically slow start.
