Klopp was impressed with the performance of Jones during Liverpool’s 2-0 win against Villa at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who signed a new contract with the Reds before the match, came on as a substitute in the 85th minute and scored just four minutes later.
Klopp was pleased with the cameo performance of the teenager, and has said that he is going to have a lot of fun with him.
Klopp said about Jones: “Curtis came on and was involved in everything. The goal he deserves. He anticipated it.”
The Liverpool boss added: “Curtis has a lot of qualities but he was in his position and that’s his strength, he deserves the goal. I’m really happy for him.”
The German continued: “That’s Curtis in a nutshell! He signed a new contract yesterday which is good for him and good for us. We’ll have a lot of fun with him.”
Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge has also praised Jones on Twitter and is pleased with the win for the Reds.
Bright future
Jones signing a new contract and Klopp praising him on Sunday underlines the bright future that the teenager has at Liverpool.
True, the Reds have a very strong midfield department and Jones is only 19 years of age, but he is hugely talented and will get better in the coming years.
Jones needs to continue to work hard and must take the chances that he will get, as he did against Villa at Anfield on Sunday.
