Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was apparently ‘incensed’ by a Wolverhampton Wanderers player at Molineux this afternoon.

Conor Coady, who began his career at Liverpool, went down injured shortly before the half-time whistle following a collision with one of his own players.

The Wanderers centre-back required quite a lengthy treatment and the German manager looked infuriated on the touchline.

The theory is that the Liverpool boss wanted Coady to receive treatment off the field, because he was only a matter of metres from the line.

Here’s what commentator Rob Palmer said on Optus Sports during an ill-tempered clash.

“Well Jurgen Klopp is incensed by something. Maybe he feels Conor Coady could roll a couple of yards to the line behind the goal.”

Frustrated

In fairness, the former Borussia Dortmund manager did look to be absolutely furious with the one-time Liverpool man.

The 28-year-old quit his boyhood club in 2014 but he remains an avid fan of the Anfield side.

Despite loving Liverpool, Coady was probably being a little cute by not rolling off the field.

Remember, Klopp’s outfit were hammering Bruno Lage’s side at the time and Coady’s injury actually came during a fierce attack from the visitors.

Really, the towering defender killed the Reds’ momentum in a massive fashion and that, if we’re honest, is what annoyed Klopp.

Liverpool ultimately won the contest regardless when Divock Origi – a second-half substitution – scored in the closing seconds to seal a victory for Klopp and co.

Unfair really because Coady absolutely didn’t deserve to be on the losing side.
