Liverpool fans have been pining for the return of Thiago – and for good reason.

Despite managing only 134 minutes of Premier League football since joining the Reds from Bayern Munich this past summer, Thiago has oozed class in both appearances.

And with Fabinho forced to play in central defence as of late, Liverpool’s midfield balance is already affected and the Spain international could fix that to some extent.

But Thiago hasn’t been seen since going off injured in the 2-2 draw with Everton in October, following a rash challenge by Richarlison at Goodison Park.

And speaking after today’s draw at Brighton & Hove Albion, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed that the midfield maestro – a Champions League winner last season – isn’t going to be available for upcoming games against Wolves and Ajax either.

He told a press conference, when asked if Thiago – or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – would be back in the next two games: “No. I don’t think so.”

This injury is becoming a big pain in the you-know-what for Klopp and Liverpool fans, given that there was promising news in the sense that he was back in training last week.

They already have one brilliant player in the form of Virgil van Dijk sidelined until next season at the earliest and the longer they go without seeing Thiago back in a red shirt, the more anxious they’ll be about his condition.
