Jordan Henderson has handed Liverpool a big injury boost.
The Reds captain sat out the win over Leicester City and the Champions League defeat by Atalanta in midweek.
Henderson, who skippered Liverpool to a Premier League title last term, picked up a hamstring injury on international duty with England earlier this month.
But it looks like he might be set to return in the visit to Brighton & Hove Albion tomorrow after manager Jurgen Klopp revealed during his pre-match press conference today that he trained as normal yesterday ahead of the game.
The German coach also added, however, that ‘late decisions’ on other players will dictate his first XI tomorrow.
He said via The Echo: “Hendo trained yesterday in parts of team training and he had an individual session. We have to see. The other players who played are in recovery. We have to make late decisions – we have to wait on the medical department.”
Henderson, a £20 million signing in 2011, is a huge player for Liverpool.
Klopp’s midfield has been ravaged – along with his defence – for most of the season, but getting a lynchpin back in the form of the former Sunderland kid has to be considered a big boost if it does indeed materialise.
