Things could go from bad to worse for Liverpool very, very quickly.

The Reds were held to a 2-2 draw by Everton at Goodison Park this afternoon.

Not only were Liverpool denied a last-minute winner by a very suspect VAR decision, but the Premier League champions could and probably should have been facing 10 men for 80 minutes after Jordan Pickford escaped a red card for the challenge which saw Virgil van Dijk subbed off.

There was more carnage in stoppage time when Richarlison received his marching orders for a nasty challenge on new Liverpool midfielder Thiago.

And Klopp has told a post-match interview that it ‘doesn’t look good’ for the Spain international:

This could be absolutely devastating if Thiago is ruled out for a long period of time.

The former Bayern Munich midfielder only joined Liverpool last month after a lengthy transfer saga.

And this was his full Premier League debut, so if the 29-year-old – who had been self-isolating for the past fortnight, too – is forced to spend time on the sidelines, after only 135 minutes of action under Klopp, then it’s a horrible way to kick off your career in England.
