Andy Robertson could potentially make his return for Liverpool tonight.
The Reds are gearing up for a Champions League visit away to Rangers, eight days after beating the Gers 2-0 at Anfield.
Kostas Tsimikas has deputised for the injured Robertson over the past five weeks or so, with the Scotland international’s last Liverpool appearance coming on September 7.
However, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that the former Hull City left-back – an £8 million signing in 2017 – will return to the squad tonight, though a number of other players will not.
He told the club’s official website: “Robbo is in the squad; Curtis not, Ox not, Naby not. That’s it. It’s important the boys [are] coming back but it is not that you are back, train twice with the team and then here we go. It’s not like this.”
With or without Robertson, Liverpool should, in theory, be able to get past the Gers tonight.
Despite being available, Klopp might even hold off on unleashing him because the Reds host Manchester City at Anfield this weekend.
Losing to Pep Guardiola’s side would almost certainly kill off any slim title hopes Liverpool have, with the Anfield outfit already 13 points behind the reigning Premier League champions.
We saw against Arsenal that Tsimikas isn’t an adequate deputy for Robertson and therefore his return against City could potentially be massive.
