Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could make a U-turn over Naby Keita and tell club owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) to hand the midfielder a new contract, according to TEAMtalk.

Keita is out of contract at Liverpool at the end of the season, and, as things stand at the moment, the £130,000-a-week (SalarySport) midfielder will become a free agent next summer.

However, Klopp could change his mind on the 27-year-old Guinea international central midfielder and hand him a new deal, according to the report.

Former Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also out of contract at Liverpool at the end of the season.

And, according to TEAMtalk, Klopp could hand him a new contract as well.

Should Naby Keita stay at Liverpool?

In our view, Naby Keita should seriously look to leave Liverpool for good in the summer of 2023.

Yes, the 27-year-old has had injury problems during his time at Anfield, but when he has been fit and available, the midfielder has not always played regularly.

We do not think that Keita will get to play week in and week out forLiverpool whenever everyone is fit and available.

Keita is only 27, and we do not think that the Guinea international midfielder should spend his prime years on the bench at Liverpool.
