Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes that Moussa Sissoko is back to his Newcastle United form.
Moussa Sissoko may not be guaranteed a place in the Tottenham Hotspur starting lineup at the moment, but the former Newcastle United midfielder is certainly playing a bigger role this season that he did during the 2017-18 campaign.
The France international played 903 minutes in the Premier League for Tottenham last season; so far this campaign, the 28-year-old has already played 1106 minutes of league football.
But is the Frenchman back to the kind of form he showed when he was at his best at Newcastle which saw him earn the move to Spurs?
Most Tottenham fans will say no, but Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has a different take on the player that Spurs paid £30 million for to the Magpies in the summer of 2016, according to BBC Sport.
As the following posts from Spurs fans show, Sissoko is not really rated very highly by them, but Liverpool boss Klopp seems to think that the midfielder is back to the level he was at Newcastle, a claim that will probably leave Tottenham supporters scratching their heads.
Klopp told The Liverpool Echo ahead of the Premier League game against Tottenham on Sunday: “Dele Alli, not the same season as last season, but still the highest quality.
“Christian Eriksen constantly pffff, Son (Heung-Min) really good, (Moussa) Sissoko made a step again and back to the player he was at Newcastle, (Victor) Wanyama not in but (Eric) Dier still there.”
