Liverpool have seen Joe Gomez flourish this season.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has told The Mirror that he remembers how everybody at Anfield told him how good Joe Gomez was back in 2015 – and now he understands why.
The Reds continued their unbeaten start to the Premier League season on Saturday night, as they drew 1-1 at Arsenal, with James Milner’s opener cancelled out by Alexandre Lacazette.
Liverpool continue to be hard to beat, and a huge part of that impressive defensive record is Gomez, who has really come into his own this season.
The 21-year-old was signed from Charlton Athletic by Brendan Rodgers in 2015, despite having only made 21 league appearances for the Addicks before making a huge move to Anfield.
After immediately nailing down a starting role under Rodgers, Gomez suffered a season-ending injury in October 2015, just five days after Klopp was appointed as manager of the Reds.
Gomez was out for more than a year, but has now become a Liverpool star alongside Virgil van Dijk in the heart of the Reds defence, and even an England regular too.

Now, with Gomez potentially in line for a new contract, Klopp has told The Mirror that he remembers how everybody at Liverpool told him about Gomez, and now understands why, praising his confidence and determination.
“He has a big future here at Liverpool, no doubt about that. Joe is a very important part of the squad and it’s so nice to see,” said Klopp. “I remember when I came in and everybody told me about him. Now, seeing him full of confidence, and being really fit, I know what they were talking about when they told me how good he was and, much more importantly, how good he is.”
“I knew him, but not really well, and everybody told me how good he was when he came to Liverpool. Then he got the injury and he has had to fight back. It took a while, but he has shown so much determination,” he added.
