Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has hailed Leicester City’s Harvey Barnes as ‘unbelievable’ in the build up to tomorrow’s clash between the sides.
Liverpool are due to take on Leicester in what looks an intriguing clash at Anfield, with both sides battling for the top four.
Liverpool have been out of sorts of late, and Klopp is under no illusions over how difficult it will be to return to winning ways against the Foxes on Saturday.
“I couldn’t respect Brendan’s work more,” he said, at his press conference, which was broadcast by Liverpool’s official Youtube channel.
“The job he is doing and they are doing is really really good. They had some injury problems too and came through it properly and are now a real competitor. That is how we see the game.”
“Brendan and the players are smart enough to use [last season] – as long as they don’t lose players and can add on – they did good business – Albrighton, Vardy, Barnes – Barnes is an unbelievable player.”
Klopp’s comments on Barnes are particularly interesting, as he is a player who has been linked with Liverpool in the past.
The Mirror claimed that Liverpool wanted to sign the rapid forward back in July, but nothing came of the move at that time.
Liverpool, instead, went for Diogo Jota – but with the Reds attack looking so stifled this season, a new forward could be on Klopp’s shopping list in the summer.
And given his latest comments it would not be a major surprise if Liverpool were linked with the Leicester wide-man once again in the coming months.
