According to CalcioMercato, Liverpool are interested in a move for Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha as the winger enters the final months of his contract.

Any Premier League fan knows just how good Zaha is. He’s been Palace’s talisman for nigh on a decade now, and he more than deserves a crack at playing in the Champions League before his career is done and dusted.

Liverpool are apparently keen to take the Ivorian off Palace’s hands, and while this story isn’t coming from the best of sources, it’s easy to believe that the Reds would be keen on Zaha.

Indeed, not only is the winger one of the Premier League’s most talented players, Jurgen Klopp is also a big fan, labelling the attacker as ‘world class’ back in 2019 after a game against the Eagles at Anfield.

Klopp likes Zaha

As quoted by the Metro at the time, Klopp called Zaha ‘world class’ after one meeting with Palace.

“They are really good at counter attacks and set pieces, Wilfried Zaha is a world-class player and he gets into a one-on-one situation and we’re one down,” Klopp said.

Would fit nicely

Klopp is clearly a fan of Zaha and the player himself does have ambitions of playing at the top level, so this deal looks like one that would fit together quite nicely.

Indeed, Zaha would be quality on the left side of Klopp’s front three, and with the Reds desperately needing some depth on the flanks to rotate with Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz. Zaha could be the man for the job.

This has the potential to be a bit of a match made in heaven, but, of course, whether or not this transfer comes to fruition remains to be seen.

This could be one to keep an eye on as we approach the January transfer window, that’s for sure.
