Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp spoke to reporters after his side’s hard-fought 2-1 win over Tottenham at Anfield yesterday, and took time to praise Fabinho, despite the Brazilian playing just 15 minutes of the game, as quoted by Football.London.

The 25-year-old joined the Reds in the summer of 2018 from Monaco, for a fee believed to be worth somewhere in the region of £40 million, and he’s gone on to make 31 appearances in all competitions for Klopp’s side.

Despite a slow start to life at Anfield, Fabinho has finally found his feet, and he has been mightily impressive for Liverpool over the past few months.

The Brazilian midfielder didn’t start the game against Tottenham yesterday, however, coming on as a 77th minute substitute, but Klopp still found time to praise his efforts, labelling his display as ‘brilliant’, as quoted by Football.London:

(THE SUN OUT, THE SUN ON SUNDAY OUT) Fabinho of Liverpool shows his appreciation to the fans at the end of the Premier League match between Fulham FC and Liverpool FC at Craven Cottage on...

“Fabinho only had to play 15 minutes against a tired side but he was brilliant. If you bring on a sub they have to make an impact and that’s why you bring them on.”

Liverpool are now two points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table, although they have played a game more than Pep Guardiola’s side.

And if the Reds are to end their 29 year wait for a top flight title, they will most likely have to win all of their remaining six league games.
