Liverpool have an 18-match unbeaten record in the Premier League to protect in this evening’s trip to Manchester United.

The Reds’ stellar form from the end of last season has been carried into the 2021-22 campaign and Klopp’s side will be favourites to pick up all three points at Old Trafford.

If we’re honest, 10 of Liverpool’s first XI is pretty much guaranteed.

But there’s one change in midfield that the German could and probably will make.

Despite scoring in the Champions League win away to Atletico Madrid in midweek, Naby Keita might find himself sacrificed.

The Liverpool boss revealed in his pre-match press conference that Curtis Jones is available again and the academy gem – labelled ‘top class’ by his manager in September – might well usurp his £52 million teammate in the starting lineup.

Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah are likely to continue as a three-pronged attack, with Jones, if he plays, the most advanced midfielder, ahead of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.

Picking the back five is Klopp’s easiest job for today.

Alisson will obviously start between the sticks and hope that a back four of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson offer him adequate protection.

With the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Mason Greenwood to defend against, it’ll be a difficult 90 minutes for Klopp’s rearguard.

But there isn’t a back five in English football you would want to silence Ronaldo and co more than these lads.

Here is how Liverpool are likely to line up at the Theatre of Dreams.

Predicted XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Matip, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Jones; Mane, Firmino, Salah
