It is supposed to be the friendly derby, but Ross Barkley’s tackle on England teammate Jordan Henderson showed once again that, on the pitch, Everton-Liverpool is anything but.

Luckily, Henderson was able to continue, and quite rightly took Barkley to task in the aftermath.
However, it seems that all was forgiven by full-time, with the pair sharing an embrace on the Goodison Park pitch – moments after Sadio Mane’s dramatic winner had secured victory for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
And afterwards, Henderson confirmed to the BBC that Barkley had apologised for the tackle.
The result saw Liverpool leapfrog Manchester City into second place, although the Reds remain six points adrift of Premier League leaders Chelsea.
Everton, meanwhile, remain in ninth place and have so far amassed as many points from Ronald Koeman’s first 17 league games as manager as they did in as many matches under Roberto Martinez last season.
