Tottenham Hotspur fans may be hoping to see a new striker arrive this summer, and the club have already identified one player they’re interested in.

Yet rather than targeting a first-team addition, they look to be lining up a move to bolster their youth ranks with an exciting signing.

On Saturday, Tottenham’s Under-18’s took on their West Ham United counterparts, and were 4-0 up by half time before sealing a 5-3 victory.

Fans will have noticed that Maurizio Pochettino – manager Mauricio’s son – got on the scoresheet, but two goals were scored by a striker named Kion Etete.

Supporters would have been forgiven for not knowing Etete, but the Tottenham official website noted that he is a trialist currently attempting to impress the Spurs staff.

Etete, 17, is currently playing for League Two side Notts County, and has already made six first-team appearances for the club.

The young striker has broken through this season, and has seemingly done enough in England’s fourth tier and in the Notts County youth ranks to spark Tottenham’s interest.

Bagging a brace in his first game for Spurs is some way to impress, and it now remains to be seen whether Tottenham follow up the trial with a permanent move.
