Lewis Kinsella will leave Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.
Lewis Kinsella has revealed to The Birmingham Mail the advice given by Kevin MacDonald when Aston Villa released him.
Kinsella recently revealed on social networking site Twitter that he will leave Villa in the summer transfer window (click here to read more).
“Kev (Kevin MacDonald) said to me that he thinks I need to leave to get better,” the 21-year-old defender told The Birmingham Mail. “I’m not sure exactly whose decision it was because we didn’t have a manager at the time, but he was the one who chatted to me about it.
“He said my attitude is very good and if I keep doing what I’m doing then I’ll have a chance of a good career. He said they didn’t think I would play in the first team at Aston Villa so there was no point in holding me back. He told me to go away and make a name for myself and to prove them wrong.”
Kinsella has been on the books of Villa since 2011, but he has failed to break into the first team.
The youngster has had loan spells at Luton Town and Kidderminster Harriers, and it seems that he will now have to find a new club.
It was great of MacDonald to explain to the defender the Villans’ decision, and it made sense.
If Villa do not have think that Kinsella has a future at the club, then it is best for the youngster if he finds a new team for himself.
If the youngster is not able to find a club in the Championship, then perhaps he should look at a team in League One.
Kinsella is a talented young defender, and he will get better if he gets to play regular first-team football in a competitive environment.
Perhaps in the future Kinsella will prove his doubters wrong and establish himself as a Premier League star.
