Leeds United lost to Cardiff City in the Championship on Saturday.

Leeds United Managing Director Angus Kinnear has told the club’s official website that the squad is good enough to finish in the top six of the Championship this season.

The West Yorkshire outfit signed left-back Laurens De Bock, midfielder Adam Forshaw and striker Tyler Roberts in the January transfer window.

Kinnear told Leeds’s official website before the match against Cardiff City in the Championship on Saturday afternoon: “The business conducted reinforces Andrea’s commitment to continue to invest in the squad, which we still firmly believe is strong enough to secure a Play-Off place.

“The imminent return of our legion of suspended players will strengthen our hand, alongside recapturing the fluidity and cohesion that has been a hallmark of our best form.”

The aforementioned comments from Kinnear make it clear that the Leeds hierarchy believe that the team can finish in the top six of the Championship this season.

Given the number of teams aiming to clinch a playoff spot, it is going to be tough for the Whites, but they do have a strong team who can compete.

Leeds head coach Thomas Christiansen could be under pressure following the defeat to Cardiff City at Elland Road this afternoon, given Kinnear’s comments.

Winning against high-flying Cardiff was always going to be tough, but playing at home should have given Leeds an advantage.

Given that the Leeds hierarchy think that the current team is good enough for the playoffs, especially after the signings made in the January transfer window, Christiansen could now be under pressure.
